Curtain Measuring & Fitting
SOFT FURNISHING SPECIALISTS
We offer a measuring and fitting service for all window treatments, however, this service incurs an additional charge and we outsource it to one of our expert partners. In order to get an initial quote we can guide you over the phone as to how to measure a window correctly in order to give you a cost to make the curtains/ roman blind and to calculate the quantity of fabric needed. We have also included a simple guide on measuring a window correctly.
Instructions on Measuring
Affix the track or pole before taking measurements for your curtains or measure from existing track or pole.
If affixing a new track or pole it should extend beyond the window at either side by about 15-20 cm to allow the curtains to be drawn back away from the windows during the day. It should also be placed about 15cm above the window to maximise the light.
Measuring Curtain Width
Measure the full length of the track, if the track overlaps you must include the overlap. Measure the full length of the pole and do not include the finals.
Measuring Curtain Length
Measure the length from the top of the track to ensure it is covered by the curtains.
Measure for pleats from the small ring at the bottom of the curtain ring on curtain poles.
Measure tab top curtains from the top of the pole.
For the correct length measure to the correct point:
A 1cm above the sill for a sill length product
B The desired length for below a sill length product
C 1cm above the floor for a floor-length product
